AHS Registration
AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

Before beginning classes at Aiken High School, the following items MUST be submitted to the Guidance Office:
  • Withdrawal form from last school attended
  • Discipline record from last school attended
  • Attendance record from last school attended
  • Proof of residency (3 documents required, see list below)
  • Birth certificate
  • Immunization record
  • NOTE: If the last school attended was outside of Aiken County, Aiken High will also need a copy of student's transcript, course schedule and corresponding grades at the time of withdrawal.
Once ALL of these items have been submitted to the Guidance Office, the student will be scheduled with a Guidance Counselor to enroll the student at AHS. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all of the items are received. Aiken High School's Guidance Department is NOT responsible for obtaining the items. No student will be allowed to begin classes at AHS until all of the items have been received. There are NO exceptions.

All new students must submit at least 1 document from each of the 3 catagories below for address verification and must reflect the address provided for enrollment or change of address:
  • Category 1: copy of deed OR record of most recent mortgage payment, copy of lease (including Aiken Housing Authority and HUD leases) AND record of the most recent rent payment, residency affidavit from landlord affirming tenancy AND record or most recent rent payment, section 8 agreement, letter from approved agency (group & foster home purposes only)
  • Category 2: A utility bill or work order dated within the past 30 days including gas bill, water bill, electric bill, telephone bill or cable bill.
  • Category 3: valid SC driver's license, current vehicle registration or valid SC photo identification card OR dated within the past year- W-2 form, vehicle tax bill, property tax bill OR dated within the past 60 days- Medicaid card, payroll stub, bank or credit card statement
*Legal guardianship requires additional documentation from a court or agency*
This residency policy does not apply to homeless students, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act. Group homes are required to provide proofs from Columns A & B only.

This is an example of the AHS Course Request form we will be using in IGPs this year. Students will be bringing home a consolidated sample copy of this form as well as a listing of teacher recommendations. These will be distributed during class IGP information meetings which will begin on Feb. 11 and continue through Feb. 19. IGP appointments will begin on Feb. 22 and continue through March 31.
